The Command Zone is a media production company specializing in the world of gaming, with a focus on Magic: The Gathering. We create high-quality, entertaining, and educational content focused on the Commander format, including gameplay, webseries, podcasts, and other online videos. Our mission is to help players enjoy Magic more, while having a ton of fun along the way.

We are seeking a motivated, driven, and hard-working Production Assistant to join our team full-time and help keep our content operations running smoothly. This is the perfect entry-level job for someone passionate about both Magic: The Gathering and filmmaking.

Production Assistant Functions 

• Aid with general office upkeep and management.
• Assist with in-house shipping and merchandise fulfillment.
• Run daily errands, such as picking up and dropping off supplies.
• Help with the set-up and breakdown of equipment and sets for production and other events.
• Perform quality control on various video and audio assets.
• Project-based research and troubleshooting.
• Other duties as projects require.

Additional Qualifications: 

This is an entry-level position and no specific qualifications are required, but any of the following are a plus:

• Experience working in live theater, tv, film, commercial and/or online videos (in any capacity).
• Production experience of any kind (PA work, lighting, sound, editing, cinematography, etc.).
• Knowledge of the ins and outs of various social media platforms (YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.).
• Any experience working with the post-production “tools of the trade” (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.).
• Being handy with tools or familiar with construction.

If you do not have any of the above qualifications, that’s OK! The most important skills are the ability and desire to learn.

Role Requirements 

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willing to undergo a background & driving record check.
• Must be located in the Greater Los Angeles area (this role is not remote).
• Must own or have access to a vehicle.

Physical Requirements

• Position may require employees to bend, walk, stand, lift, crouch, stoop, crawl, squat or kneel for extended periods of time.
• Position may require employees to lift 50 pounds or more daily as well as the regular operation of power tools.
• The position may occasionally be exposed to outdoor environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wet, and dry conditions. Additional working conditions may include inadequate lighting, restricted movement, and dirty work sites.
• Position may require employees to sit for extended periods of time while using electronic devices and, therefore, may be subject to extended exposure to screens.
