The Command Zone is a media production company specializing in the world of gaming, with a focus on Magic: The Gathering. We create high-quality, entertaining, and educational content focused on the Commander format, including gameplay, webseries, podcasts, and other online videos. Our mission is to help players enjoy Magic more, while having a ton of fun along the way.
We are seeking a Content Creator & Video Producer to expand our content output. This role is ideal for someone who loves Magic: The Gathering, lives and breathes filmmaking and digital media, is highly creative, enjoys wearing many different hats, and thrives in a role where no two days are the same.

What You’ll Do:
This is a true generalist role. Perfect for a jack-of-all-trades filmmaker. We’re looking for someone with great creative ideas who can develop and pitch concepts, write scripts, plan and execute production, and then edit that footage into final videos.
- Generate fresh video ideas aligned with the channel’s brand, goals, and audience.
- Write clear, engaging scripts and outlines optimized for storytelling and retention.
- Plan and execute shoots (camera, audio, lighting basics) either independently or with a small team.
- Edit videos end-to-end, including pacing, sound design, color correction, graphics, and music.
- Optimize videos for YouTube (titles, thumbnails, hooks, structure) in collaboration with the team.
- Iterate based on performance, feedback, and analytics.
- Stay current with YouTube trends, formats, and platform best practices.
- Work with our team to produce media assets needed for ongoing series content.
- Project-based research and troubleshooting.
- Other duties as projects require.

Additional Qualifications:
We’re looking for someone with broad knowledge and experience with filmmaking and/or content creation. The right candidate will have some (but not necessarily all) of the following:
- Expertise with Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop.
- Familiarity with After Effects and other post production “tools of the trade.”
- Proficiency with the use of camera, lighting, and/or sound equipment.
- Writing experience (ad copy, sketch comedy, narrative fiction, etc).
- Understanding of the ins and outs of YouTube and other online social media platforms.
- Familiarity with VFX and GFX workflows.
- Professional experience working at a TV/film/commercial production company, YouTube channel, creative agency, or the like, is a plus.
- High degree of computer literacy.
Role Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid CA driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Minimum of 3 years of applicable professional experience.
- Willing to undergo a background & driving record check.
- Must be located in the Greater Los Angeles area (this role is not remote).
Physical Requirements
